Books About Colors for Kids

This includes lots of fun books about colors for kids! One of them we’ve included here, “The Crayon Box that Talked” was the perfect book to pair with a box of crayons and gift each of my students one year.

Over the years, I’ve spotted other books that would also be perfect to gift with crayons or other colorful art supplies.

Dr. Seuss’s Book of Colors This is one of their Bright and Early Beginning Books for Early Readers. All of my kids have loved learning to read and rhyme with these books.

Books about Colors

The Color Kittens  Is there anything better than a Little Golden Book? This story is as cute as can be with beautiful illustrations throughout the story.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear A classic book for young children by Bill Martin, Jr. and Eric Carle. I think all my kids got to where they knew every word to this one when they were little.

Play with Paint This is a fun little board book I found at our local public library. This one is a book recommendation you and your young reader will enjoy.

Teeny, Tiny Mouse: A Book about Colors As you read, you walk through the home of the mice, spotting all kinds of different home items of various colors.

Sylvie If you like books that encourage children to be who they were created to be, you’ll love Sylvie. I originally purchased this one because we think flamingos are simply amazing.
