Peanut Butter and Jelly French Toast

The first time I made this peanut butter and jelly French toast, my family went wild! It has become a favorite Saturday morning breakfast or brunch.

This is definitely a meal where you’ll want to have napkins on hand! Soft French toast filled with melted peanut butter and jelly makes for a delectably gooey breakfast that is super fun, but a little messy, to eat.

Ingredients

– Texas Toast – Peanut Butter – Jelly – Eggs

STEP 1

Simply lay each of the four slices of bread flat on the counter top, and spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on two of them and 1 tablespoon of jelly on the others.

STEP 2

Set a large skillet or large griddle on the stove over medium-high heat, and as it warms up, whisk together your egg mixture.

STEP 3

Place a small pat of butter in your skillet, and use the melted butter to coat the skillet or griddle. This creates a flavorful, non-stick surface.

STEP 4

Quickly dip the PB&J sandwiches into the egg mixture. Because this version of French toast is so thick, it’s important not to let the bread soak up too much of the egg.

Immediately place the dipped sandwich on the hot pan or griddle. Allow the first side to cool for 2-3 minutes, and then flip it over until both sides of the sandwiches are golden brown.
