Sure, you can use these flashcards in traditional ways, but I have discovered ways to make flashcards a multi-sensory experience, and I am excited about sharing them with you!
All of the items included in this bundle were created with my daughter, Aubrey, in mind! Aubrey has Down Syndrome, and multi-sensory activities are the key to meeting her special needs. I would argue that all children benefit from a multi-sensory approach, but for my Aubrey girl, it is EVERYTHING!
- The flashcards I’ve created are smaller than some flashcards – The majority of the flashcards included measure approximately 3.5 inches in height – as we’re working to transition to working in smaller spaces, with smaller text, etc.
- The sight word flashcards measure 3 inches in height and were created with an eye-catching red font intended to assist with focus. The sight words I’ve included are the ones included in ABC See, Hear, Do
- The storybook pages (a bonus piece of this bundle) were designed for us to use along with some of the ideas Natalie Hale has shared in her book, Whole Child Reading: A Quick-Start Guide to Teaching Students with Down Syndrome and Other Developmental Delays.
