Make and Build using Popsicle Sticks

When I spotted this idea on Pinterest, I knew I had to try it! All I needed to make it happen was a batch of large, colorful Popsicle Sticks and a roll of Velcro Dots!

I could not wait for my kids to get started creating letters and constructing geometric shapes!

I started by attaching Velcro dots to each end of the Popsicle Sticks, using two identical dots on each side.

And then flipping them over and using two opposite Velcro dots on the other side of each stick.

I prepared 50 sticks so more than one of my kids could play with them at the same time.

During naptime one day, I finished preparing them, and that afternoon, we began creating letters and constructing geometric shapes!

Constructing shapes seemed to be their favorite! They put their 50 sticks together as he helped them build a few 3-D shapes.

The sky is the limit with this activity, and I love the opportunity it gives kids to interact with all kinds of concepts in a hands-on way!
