Equipment

  • Griddle

Ingredients

  • 4 Slices Texas Toast
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Jelly
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter

Instructions

  • First up - make your PB&J sandwiches! You have enough ingredients to make two of them. Simply lay each of the four slices of bread flat on the counter top, and spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on two of them and 1 tablespoon of jelly on the others. Place the peanut butter slice of bread on top of the jelly slice, and set your peanut butter and jelly sandwiches aside.
  • Set a large skillet or large griddle on the stove over medium-high heat, and as it warms up, whisk together your egg mixture. To do this, whisk eggs, milk, sugar (Remember, you can skip the sugar.), and cinnamon in a shallow bowl until well-combined.
  • Place a small pat of butter in your skillet, and use the melted butter to coat the skillet or griddle. This creates a flavorful non-stick surface.
  • Quickly dip the PB&J sandwiches into the egg mixture. Because this version of French toast is so thick, it's important not to let the bread soak up too much of the egg. Just do a quick dip on both sides of the sandwich.
  • Immediately place the dipped sandwich onto the hot pan or griddle. Allow the first side to cool for 2-3 minutes, and then flip it over until both sides of sandwiches are a golden brown.
  • Remove the French toast sandwich from the skillet and place it on a cutting board. Allow the sandwich cool a bit, and then cut it in half. Serve and enjoy!
