How to Set Up a Coloring Table
A Coloring Table? This idea had never crossed my mind, but when I saw another mom on Instagram sharing her idea for how to do it, I knew I wanted to try it right away.
Setting up a Coloring Table is as easy at pie!

All you need is Painter’s Paper (or brown craft paper) and markers!
For this setup, I used a large roll of builder-grade drop cloth I had spotted at our local Lowe’s Home Improvement Store, but there are also other options that would work well, too.
Kraft Paper Jumbo Roll Available Here
One afternoon, while my kids were playing, I transformed our kitchen table into a coloring table.
I simply rolled out enough brown paper to cover the entire table (You can tape it down or let it hang it loosely over the edge of your table.),
tossed a handful of markers out on the table,
and we were ready to go with a fun activity to do before dinner.
For part of the afternoon, our super artistic Mommy’s Helper at the time was here.
Check out her Mrs. Potts! Isn’t it the cutest?
More Ideas for Your Coloring Table
Crayons, Colored Pencils, Markers, Paint
The traditional options are fun, but your child might also enjoy using
Stickers
Stickers are such a fantastic fine-motor skills activity – no matter your child’s age.
Cookie Cutters and Stencils
You can also turn your kids loose with cookie cutters and let them trace fun shapes all over the table.
This is an especially fun idea around the holidays.
If your family is like ours, you have loads of seasonal cookie cutters in your kitchen.
Have any stencils on hand? These are fun, too!
My kids are now enjoying the set I played with for years as a child.
Valentine’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas – this is a fun activity no matter the season!
Alternative Ideas for a Coloring Table
Don’t want to set this up as a Coloring Table?
You can roll your paper out on a countertop
or even attach it to a vertical wall space.
