- Mini Marshmallows – Mini marshmallows gets sufficiently gooey all the way through, without burning. You can also use marshmallow fluff!

How to Make Your Own Mini Pie Crusts
No mini graham cracker crusts to be found? No worries!
They’re super easy to make. All you need is crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and a muffin tin.
You could also use mini tart pans or ramekins, if you have those handy.
- Use a food processor (or the good old Ziploc bag with a rolling pin combo) to crush graham crackers into fine crumbs.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter for every two graham crackers, and stir into the graham cracker crumbs. NOTE: For extra sweet treats, add a teaspoon of brown sugar to this crumble as well!
- Press the graham cracker mixture into the cups of a muffin pan, and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1-2 minutes. The butter in the crust will likely help your crusts to slide out of the pan easily, but you can always grease your pan for a little extra assurance.
- There’s no need to pop these crusts out of the muffin pan – just add your chocolate pieces and marshmallows, then slide it back in the oven for a bit. You can take out the pies when they’re completely finished.
How to Make Mini Smores Pies
Making these little pies is as simple as filling the pie shells and popping them in the oven!
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or a silicone liner, and arrange the mini graham cracker pie crusts.
- Fill each of the pie shells with equal amounts of mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallows, until the filling reaches just to the top of the pie crusts.
- Place the cookie sheet in the oven for 5-8 minutes, until the top of the marshmallow are golden brown and the chocolate filling is gooey.
- Let cool for a minute or two, and enjoy! As ours cool, we notice that the marshmallows deflate a bit – They don’t always look quite as pretty when that happens, but they still taste delicious!
Storing Leftover Mini Pies
Any leftovers of these little pies can be stored at room temperature in an air tight container. You can certainly enjoy them straight out of the container later on.
I’m not sure my kids would ever turn down a room temperature s’mores pie – ha!
But I would suggest using your oven to reheat them, if you choose to do so.
The microwave may be faster, but it’s going to do quite a number on the texture of your pies…
…and if your crusts are in mini aluminum pans, you definitely do not want that in your microwave.
Top Tips for Perfect Pies
- Don’t walk away from that oven! We all know from experience how quickly marshmallows can go from white to burnt. Turn on the oven light, sit down on the floor, and watch them cook. It won’t take long!
- Opt for mini marshmallows instead of normal-sized marshmallows. Mini marshmallows will cook all the way through before toasting, but normal marshmallows may still be firm inside.
- I like to mix the chocolate chips and the marshmallows together, but you could also place all the chocolate in the crusts first to form a bottom chocolate layer, and then create a marshmallow topping over it. This makes it easier to gauge when those toasty marshmallows are done.
- If you or your children prefer to not have the chocolate chips melt too much, swap out the marshmallows for marshmallow fluff. Still put the pies in the oven for a few minutes, but they won’t need to be baked for nearly as long, and you’ll still be able to enjoy marshmallow gooeyness.
Variations of These Easy S’mores Pies
There’s more than one way to make a s’more – and there’s more than one way to make these s’more pies!
- Cooking Method – There’s more than one way to enjoy melted chocolate and gooey marshmallow. Use a kitchen torch, place the little pies in your air fryer basket, turn on your broiler and use the top oven rack. Each method will give you a slightly different result, but they’re all delicious. For that matter, bring these miniature pies on your next camping trip and melt them over your fire.
- Various Candies – I already mentioned that you can try out different types of chocolates, but don’t stop there! Try using white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coated chocolate candies, or even peanut butter cups.
- Toppings – You can add all sorts of toppings to these mini pies! Whipped cream, chopped nuts, crushed Oreos, and chocolate shavings are all great ideas.
