No-Spill Bubble Wand Hack
I never buy the bubble wands! I know better. Early on in my parenting journey, I thought those giant bubble wands looked fun. They were in everyone’s favorite dollar stores and dollar spots. They had to be a favorite, right? Well, I quickly learned that the lifespan of a bubble wand is approximately thirty-five seconds.
I used to buy them for birthday celebrations and patriotic holidays. One time, I even took a few of them on vacation with us. I thought a giant bubble wand would be fun for my kids to play with on the beach.

I can not even count the amount of times we’ve dealt with this issue over the years.

But friends, just because I no longer purchase the more inexpensive bubble wand option, that doesn’t mean they don’t still make their way into the hands of my kids and into our backyard.
My kiddos have continued to receive them as gifts from relatives and as party favors at get-togethers and celebrations, and who wants to be the mom who takes the bubbles away from their child? Not me – though I have been known to take away a problem-causing balloon or two. ha! Anyway, back to the bubbles – I had to think of something.
I love this hands-free no-spill idea from Eating Richly – She’s an absolute genius! But one day while I was outside with my little girls who were begging to play with the new Minnie Mouse bubble wands their grandmother had gifted them, I needed a quick solution using only what I had on hand at the moment.
I spotted my boys’ Nalgene water bottles, noticing that the mouth of the bottle looked about the same size as the width of the bubble wands, and guess what?
It was a perfect fit, and in that moment, this no-spill bubble wand hack I’m sharing with you today was born!

Look how perfect! The water bottles were sitting on our patio tables at just the right height for my little girls to hold onto them with their hands.

Okay, keep your hands on your own bubbles.
It may not be the perfect solution in every situation that involves this common parenting dilemma.
In fact, you may even still have a spill or two somewhere in the process (especially if your child refuses to leave the water bottle on the patio table), but this quick and simple in-the-moment idea sure did help to reduce the spilled-bubble drama that is so often associated with these bubble wands, and I knew I had to share this easy hack with you.
