People Gathered and Enjoying Food Near a Wooden Shed on a Blueberry Farm

For a number of years now, we have been driving out to this farm every June!

They are typically open on Saturdays, during the month of June. However, their open dates have a tendency to shift a bit depending on all the many things that can impact their crop!

They are great about posting updates and information about their schedule, picking conditions, etc.

All of that information can be found on their Facebook Page.

Sadly, for this season (2023), they had to post this update:

BAD NEWS ALERT – Unfortunately, our blueberry farm will not be able to open this year. The warm days we had in February made the bushes start blooming then we had several hard freezes, which did lots of damage to our harvest this year. Normally these bushes in the picture would be loaded with berries but unfortunately, they are pretty bare. We are going to miss seeing you all.…and hope and pray we will have an awesome harvest for you next year. We do have our potted blueberry bushes that we sale year round. They are 3 gallons and $20 each. – TLC Blueberry Farms

I was so sad to see this news, but grateful that as I was working on making our summer plans, I was able to go over to their Facebook page and see updated information from them.

Super nice people!

I always enjoy chatting with them we go. Being able to support a family-owned business in our area is something we love doing!

When you arrive at the blueberry farm, you will quickly realize you have actually arrived at someone’s house!

Yes, it’s a family property, but they have transformed it into a beautiful summer spot that is ready to welcome and accommodate visitors.

Someone is always ready to assist with parking, which is super helpful.

Over the years, we have found ourselves juggling not just the kids – but also baby carriers, strollers of all sizes, wagons, etc.

After getting parked, we grab a couple of berry buckets and head for the blueberry fields.

I love all the neat things my kids are able to learn by picking their own produce.

When visiting pick-your-own farms, we never know what we’re going to see in the fields!

I just love the great conversations that come from my kids having these experiences.

Honestly, it doesn’t take long for a family our size to pick lots of blueberries!

For us, this experience moves along pretty quickly, which makes it the perfect activity for younger kids!

Especially on a hot summer morning, it’s nice to have an activity that isn’t too labor intensive.

Of course you can stay as long as you like, but our family usually only picks for about 20-30 minutes.

It’s the next part of our visit to TLC Blueberry Farm that is the main event for our kids.

They are wild about the ice cream!

My kids look forward to it every year. Actually, we all do!

In addition to the ice cream, our kids also love playing on the wooden playground that has been set up nearby!

This is a great time to purchase the blueberry bushes they have for sale!

One year, I was able to use this time to shop a local meat vendor that was set up and offering meat at a great prices!

My only regret? Not bringing a cooler!

I would love to connect with them again and purchase more meat – their ground beef was delicious! I’m hoping they’re there again sometime!

In case you’re wondering, this is not a paid advertisement from TLC Blueberry Farm!

This is just our family sharing a spot we love to visit!

It is honor to support this freedom-loving, family-owned business, and such a treat to be able to enjoy their delicious blueberries and yummy homemade ice cream.

We are hopeful that 2024 is a better year for them and we are able to see some of you there!
