It was the owners of TLC Blueberry Farm in Monroe, NC who originally shared with us about Pocket of Poppies Flower Farm in nearby Unionville, NC.
In thinking through ideas for experiences that our youngest daughter would enjoy for her birthday, Pocket of Poppies came to mind.

Pocket of Poppies Flower Farm
I decided that one evening during the week of her birthday, we would visit the farm together – a special mother-daughter date.
Her older siblings were tied up with other activities, and I thought this would be such a special time together.
Quality time with just her!
This sweet flower farm did not disappoint!
I brought my camera along so I could snap a picture or two of the birthday girl picking flowers, but after seeing this place with my own two eyes, I had to snap a few extra photos to share with you.
Our visit was late-in-the-season on a weekday evening.
We had arrived as soon as they opened for an evening u-pick session.
We actually had the place all to ourselves for a bit.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful!
I loved seeing the areas they use for gatherings, special events, etc.
I follow along with Pocket of Poppies’ social media accounts, which is how I knew about their u-pick hours.
This is also where I plan to watch for upcoming events that I now know we’d love to attend.
My little girl was given a pair of kid-safe scissors to use for cutting, and we strolled through the gardens cutting the flowers that caught her eye as we walked.
Throughout the garden spaces, there are sweet little areas like this that can be used for creating a beautiful arrangement of flowers.

It was so special to get to see her use her creativity in this way!
She wore her favorite flower dress (a gift from her Granna) and one of her favorite flower bows from Alice & Josie.
We truly had the sweetest time together, and neither one of us can wait to go back!
If you know anything about me, you know The Secret Garden (picture book version) was most definitely our bedtime read that night.
What a sweet evening this mama will have tucked away in her heart for a long, long time.
Next time, we’re going to take her older sister, as we know she’d love it, too!
I’ve also decided that this flower farm would be the sweetest spot for a little girl’s birthday party!

We have also really enjoyed the produce we’ve purchased from Alexander Family Farms.
As far as we know, all items are already picked. I am not aware of any u-pick options at this farm, but definitely let me know if you discover differently.
We have visited them during their business hours, but we have also stopped and purchased items using their honor box.
After visiting the flower farm, we stopped by this family farm.
We picked up the most delicious apples and tomatoes – dropping the money in their honor system box!
