Will you join us for Aubrey Day on January 15th?

If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you know our story. It was around this time last year when we received confirmation that God had designed our little girl with Down Syndrome. Waiting for the results was hands.down. the most excruciating wait of our lives, and when the doctor shared the diagnosis with us, we grieved. It was gut-wrenching grief that caused me to cry…and cry…and cry…

…but now a year has passed, and everything looks different now. That extra chromosome that once scared us so much now gives us an amazing reason to celebrate…

…and to celebrate our girl…

…and we would love for you to celebrate with us!

Aubrey Day

In our house, January 15th has been officially declared “Aubrey Day”. It’s the date we received the official word regarding her diagnosis, and in just a few weeks, that date will roll around on the calendar, and our family has a special day planned. It is going to be a day filled with gratitude and joy…It is going to be day where we celebrate God’s goodness instead of remembering our initial upset…and we would like to invite you to join us in our celebration.

Aubrey Day: This Little Home of Mine

On January 15th, will you CHOOSE JOY? Will you wake up with an attitude of gratefulness and go throughout your day being intentionally mindful of God’s goodness in your life? I know we should do these things every day, but January 15th is going to be extra special for us this year, and we would love for you and your family to be a part of it!

There’s More!

That weekend, we will be stopping at Chick-fil-a and picking up a bag of their chocolate chip cookies! One of the first things we did to lighten the mood around here last January was to head to CFA to grab some cookies! I don’t really know why we chose that – probably because it was something quick and easy we could grab in a drive-thru. We drove home, ate cookies, drank milk, and talked about how God had designed Aubrey, and how we wanted to celebrate that. So, throughout the year, anytime Aubrey has reached a new milestone, we have picked up cookies from CFA and celebrated together!

So, on the weekend of Aubrey Day, we will be eating chocolate chip cookies from CFA! Will you do the same? That weekend, head to your closest Chickfila (Don’t forget they’re closed on Sunday! Ha!), grab some cookies, snap of photo of your family CHOOSING JOY with cookies in hand and then post it on social media with the hashtag: #choosejoyonaubreyday – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter – Wherever you are, we would love to have you! Don’t have a Chick-fil-a near you? No problem! Any treat will do! You have loved us so well this year, and we would love for you to be part of celebrating how God has changed our sorrow in to joy! He’s able to do that, you know…and we know Him so much deeper after experiencing the way He has done it for us.
