  • They’re Quick To Make! – Need a dessert in a pinch? This is my go-to recipe for those times when I need sweet treats fast. They’re great for bake sales, potluck gatherings, and classroom parties. They can also be made with Gluten-Free Oreos, which makes them a safe option for those with allergies.

  • They’re A Fun No Bake Option! – I like Rice Krispies Treats as much as the next person, but it’s nice to have more than one no-bake recipe on deck. These Oreo marshmallow bars are less crunchy and more creamy, but just as easy to make. I’d argue that they’re even easier!

Ingredients Needed For No-Bake Oreo Bars

  • 1 Pound of Oreo Cookies – A pound of Oreo cookies? What does that mean? It’s about the amount in a Family Size package of Oreo cookies. Those packages are a little over a pound, but you’ll also need 4-6 cookies to crush and use as a topping. So once you set those aside, you should be good. Both regular and double-stuffed Oreo cookies work just fine. You can also use unbranded chocolate sandwich cookies.
  • 4 Tablespoons of Butter – If possible, use unsalted butter for this recipe. You’ll be melting it with the marshmallows, so there’s no need to set the butter out ahead of time to soften or anything.
  • 10-Ounce Package of Mini Marshmallows – You could use regular-sized marshmallows in an equal packaging size, but mini marshmallows simply melt faster.
  • 4 Ounces of White Chocolate – This will be used to drizzle on top of the Oreo bars. Use white baking chocolate or white chocolate chips. If you’d rather have a thin, even layer on the Oreo bars rather than a drizzle, you’ll need 8 ounces.

How To Make No Bake Oreo Cookie Marshmallow Bars

  1. Prep an 8×8 inch pan by spraying with nonstick cooking spray or lining with parchment paper.
  2. Use a food processor to crush the Oreo cookies. Don’t crush all of them! Set 4 to 6 cookies aside to use as a topping to your Oreo bars. You’ll probably have to crush the Oreos in batches, rather than the whole package in one go. Pour the crushed Oreo cookies into a large bowl.
  3. In a large pot over low heat, melt butter and marshmallows. As they melt, stir them regularly so that the marshmallow mixture is smooth and the butter is evenly incorporated.
  4. While the melted marshmallows are still hot, quickly pour them into the Oreo crumbs and stir. The marshmallow goodness is going to harden fast, so work fast!
  5. Press the Oreo marshmallow mixture into the prepared pan, making sure to get it into the corners and packed down well. Press the mixture using either your hand or the bottom of a measuring cup. Allow the bars to set up for 10-15 minutes before going on to the next step.
  6. While the bars are setting, melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring frequently. Then, drizzle the chocolate on top of the bars and top with the Oreos you set aside earlier, cut or chopped for the look you prefer.
  7. Use a sharp knife to cut the pan into bars, and enjoy!

Top Tips For Perfect Oreo Marshmallow Bars Every Time!

  1. For perfectly crushed Oreos, don’t try to overload your food processor. Just do a few cookies at a time. I’ve also found that using the “pulse” function of my food processor tends to work best.
  2. Eating these yummy cookie bars straight out of the pan is fine for at home, but if you’d like to take them to a bake sale or serve them at an event, you might want to more easily be able to cut them into perfect squares. The key to this is pan prep! Lining the whole pan with aluminum foil makes it easy to pull the bars out of the pan once they’ve set, pull back the foil, and cut them easily. You can also do this using two sheets of parchment paper, each going in different directions and cut long enough to hang up and over the sides of the pan.
  3. If you don’t have a food processor or blender, you can crush your Oreos by placing them in a large Ziploc bag and using a rolling pin to crush them into fine cookie crumbs. Your kids or grandkids will enjoy helping with this!
  4. For clean cuts through these no-bake treats, use a sharp knife that’s been coating with nonstick spray or butter.

Topping Tricks To Try

  • Have fun with the melted white chocolate! I like to use mine as a drizzle, but you could also pour an even layer across the entire baking dish. To really takes things up a notch, dip each individual bar into the melted chocolate, completely covering it with a white chocolate coating!
  • I like to top my Oreo bars with coarsely-chopped Oreos, but you could also grind them up into a fine powder if you’d like.
  • Are you making these Oreo Marshmallow bars for a holiday or festive occasion? Add some sprinkles! If it’s Christmas, crushed peppermints would be a particularly appropriate topping option. You could also add a small splash of peppermint extract to the melted marshmallows, in that case.
  • Play with flavors! There are so many types of Oreos on the grocery store shelves nowadays. Why not make a batch using mint chocolate Oreos or peanut butter Oreos?
