This Blueberry Cobbler quickly became a favorite in our house and has become somewhat of a tradition of sorts.
- We make it for Easter lunch.
- My hubby usually requests it for Father’s Day.
- Sometimes it’s the chosen dessert for birthday celebrations. In our house, each person gets to choose the treat that is served at their party!
- We also like to make it when we’re feeling especially patriotic – like around Memorial Day or the 4th of July!
To add to the patriotic vibes, you can even add strawberries (or raspberries) to this dessert!
Serve the red berries on the side or toss them in with the blueberries when it’s time to put this sweet treat together.
This is a great recipe to try with your kids!
I always love discovering new ways to involve my kids in the kitchen and help them grow in their independence with cooking, and this is perfect for that.
Not only is it a super simple recipe to put together, but it only uses a few ingredients.
A recipe like this can help teach young kids how to measure ingredients and crack eggs!
They will love helping you build and bake this yummy treat.
We all know that it can take a little bit of time and practice to master cracking an egg, so this is the perfect opportunity to work on that skill with your kids or grandkids.
Gathering the Fruit to Make the Cobbler
This simple blueberry cobbler is especially perfect to toss together after a trip to our favorite Pick-Your-Own Blueberries farm in Monroe, NC: TLC Blueberry Farm.
If you’re in the Carolinas, we love visiting this blueberry farm!
For several years, this has been our go-to spot for picking fresh blueberries in the summertime.
It’s Time to Bake the World’s Easiest Blueberry Cobbler!
Served warm with ice cream – or cold with ice cream – this fruit cobbler is the perfection mixture of fresh fruit and cobbler topping.
Simple Ingredients List for this Blueberry Cobbler:
This fruit cobbler involves the most simple ingredients list!
- 1 pint of blueberries (or any other kind of fresh fruit)
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 stick of butter, softened
Step-by-Step Instructions for Making this Fruit Cobbler:
- Layer one container of fresh blueberries (or maybe you’ve decided to do a different kind of fruit/combo of fruit) in to the bottom of a baking dish.
- In a separate mixing bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, butter, and egg. Quick Tip: If you’re letting your kids help make this recipe, add the egg to the bowl first so you can double check that pieces of the shell don’t accidently get mixed into the batter. Honestly, I even use this tip as an adult cooking in the kitchen.
- Evenly spread the cobbler mixture over the fresh fruit.
As you can see, this mixture doesn’t turn out exactly the same for me, but the cobbler turns out great every time.
This difference might have something to do with my looseness in how I measure things – I fully admit I don’t worry about things being too perfect with this recipe.
- Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes.
- Serve warm with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream on top! Perfection!
The printable recipe can be found below, and be sure to let me know if you give it a try!
I love that this cobbler can be made with any kind of fruit.
It’s fun to put this recipe together using the fruit that is in season at the time.
It’s delicious with blueberries, strawberries, or blueberries and strawberries together.
Next time we want to try it with peaches!

For the blueberry cobbler what size dish and is the butter melted?
Thank you!
We usually soften the butter at least somewhat – melted works, too! I have an 8 x 10 pan that seems to work really well for this – Thanks for being here, Staci!
