The soup recipe is perfect for the Crock Pot or the Instant Pot – whichever you prefer! These days, I’m using my Instant Pot more and more!
Ingredients:
- 1-2 lbs. of ground beef
- 2 cans of drained kidney beans
- 1-2 cans of diced tomatoes
- 1 can of corn
- 1-2 packages of taco seasoning
Optional Ingredients:
- 1 package of dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 medium-sized diced onion
Step-by-Step Directions:
This taco soup couldn’t get any easier to make. Simply throw all of the above ingredients in to your crockpot – or Instant Pot –
add a little bit water (depending on how “soupy” you like your soup to be),
and allow the mixture to either simmer in the Crock Pot for 4-5 hours or cook in the Instant Pot for 25-30 minutes!
This soup is perfect when topped with sour cream, shredded cheese, crushed tortilla chips, avocado, and green onions.
These are a few of my favorite things…
This soup is also perfect when served with cornbread…Or do you serve cornbread with soup?
I guess it really depends on who you ask.

Do you precook the ground beef for the taco soup?
Yes, I usually cook it first, but I know some people let their crock pot do the job for them!
