Dan Nicholas Park – Salisbury, NC
We have been to Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury, North Carolina more than once, and each time we go, we have a great time!
While there are lots of things for all ages to enjoy, it is especially perfect for younger kids who would enjoy a short little train ride…
and a spin on a carousel.
There are also a variety animals to check out…(I’ll title this next photo “Captivated by Turtles”.)
a fantastic little gem mining area (One of our favorite spots!)…
a putt-putt golf course…and lots of playground equipment to explore.
Psst…the map of the park is perfect to use for a little map skills practice.
I’m sorry, the teacher in me simply can not help myself. 😉
Dan Nicholas Park offers lots of other activities – like paddle boats and even a splash pad, but we have never made it over that way. They have several shelters (complete with grills, etc.), and I’ve heard there’s a concession stand with yummy milkshakes, too – but we have typically just spent the morning at the park and ventured toward home for lunch.
If you’re in the area, definitely stop off at this little gem of a park.
It’s an inexpensive family outing with lots of built-in learning opportunities.
