Peanut Butter and Banana Pancake Kabobs
One of our favorite things to do on Saturday morning is head downstairs and whip up a big batch of pancakes. One morning, we decided to switch things up a bit and try making Peanut Butter and Banana Pancake Kabobs.
We had so much fun with this fun twist on traditional pancakes, and it has become a favorite go-to breakfast idea in our house.

When we make these, the first thing we do is prepare our pancake batter.
Around here, we are big fans of Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix as well as Kodiak Cakes Flapjack and Waffle Mix.
You may have another pre-made mix or homemade pancake batter recipe you love, but these are our favorites.
Preparing Miniature Pancakes
To make things easy, we use our Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator to squirt just the right amount of batter out on to our griddle.
You may have a Pancake Batter Dispenser on hand, but if not, we are proof that a cake decorating tool works just fine!
Isn’t the griddle the most perfect way to cook? Especially on the weekends!
The first we tried this meal idea, we quickly realized we were making our pancakes a smidge too big.
We quickly down-sized, creating pancakes that were about the size of fifty-cent pieces.
The smaller-sized pancakes were going to be perfect for building kabobs on wooden skewers.
Building the Peanut Butter and Banana Pancake Kabobs
The best part about this simple breakfast idea is that everyone in the family can jump in and help the build the kabobs.
Our kids love building their own!
A bonus is that it allows everyone the opportunity to put theirs together according to their individual preferences.
We layer:
- Pancake
- Peanut Butter
- Banana
- Pancake
- Peanut Butter
- Banana
- Pancake
But maybe you have a child that would prefer to skip the bananas…or add extra peanut butter – they get to decide!
This gives them a chance to do things their way!
Once the kabobs are built and ready to go, it’s time to enjoy!
If you have any warm Maple syrup on hand, these are delicious dipped in syrup.
Sure, things might get a little messy, but these are also a lot of fun to make.
For Younger Kids, Try This Idea!
Too make things easy for little hands, you may decide to skip the wooden skewers and try these cute little Miniature Pancake Sandwiches instead.
My kid had no problem dipping these in pancake syrup – Yum!
While this was delicious, I think next time we might try a combo of strawberries and Nutella.
Until then, I will dream about it every night.
