Bath Time for Animals
This Bath Time for Animals idea is a simple water play activity your preschooler will love!

This can be done indoors or outside.
On a pretty day, it’s the perfect sensory play idea to do on the back porch, sidewalk, or patio.
If it’s storming outside, this can be a fun indoor rainy day activity.
Animal Bath Time Setup
To get started, all you need is:
- a small container of some sort
- water
- pretend-play animals
As you can see in these images, my boys wanted to play with sharks.

Sure, your kids can simply pretend the animals are swimming in the water, but it’s so fun and silly to pretend like they’re in the water getting a bath.

You might even want to offer your child items like this to assist with the washing of their animals:
- spray bottles
- wash rags or small towels
- paint brushes of various sizes
- sponges
Your kids might even have their own ideas of objects they would like to use – like kitchen utensils for scooping their animals up out of the water.

Add to the Sensory Experience
You can also add to the sensory experience by adding ice to the water – or soap to create suds.

Bonus Idea: If your kids like the soapy suds option, you can offer them their pretend-play toy vehicles (big and small) and play car wash instead of animal bath time.

No matter how exactly you set up this simple activity, it’s so easy to offer to little ones.

Water Table Play
Would your kids rather give their animals a bath in their water table? That works!
